ASU, Tempe's Heart of Arts and Culture
The schools that comprise the Arizona State University system, commonly called ASU, are represented in Tempe at Tempe ASU. Tempe ASU features excellent academic and arts programs, several different sports organizations and the Gammage , a theatre that features Broadway productions, plays and ongoing art displays, is an important part of Tempe's arts and culture scene.

ASU is built on a commitment to offering a college education to anyone willing to put in the required work. To that end ASU financial aid for the year 2008-2009 totaled almost a half a billion dollars. ASU financial aid is augmented by the ASU Advantage program which offers assistance to low-income families in Arizona. This is a grant type funding, covering all the direct costs of college and with no requirement for repayment.

Those who attend ASU enjoy a great deal of social activity, including the ASU cheerleaders, band and many other organizations. The ASU cheerleaders are, generally, possessed of a background that encompasses some gymnastic experience, allowing them to perform feats such as multi-level human pyramids and complex and energetic dance routines.

Of course, the ASU cheerleaders do require a team for which to cheer. ASU Tempe represents the Sun Devils sports teams in several different games. The ASU football team is due to begin practice games on March 24. Each year, spring training ends with the annual Spring Game, held at the Sun Devil Stadium on April 18.

Tempe ASU offers tickets to these games, of course, and for those who wish to turn attendance into a family or corporate affair there are discount programs available. Come in a group of 25 or more to any home game and you'll be eligible for significant discounts on your Sun Devil tickets.

Tempe ASU students receive the most significant discounts of all, whether they be purchasing tickets for ASU baseball games, ASU softball games or shopping at the bookstore. These discounts apply throughout the university system. Whether it's Tempe ASU or Phoenix's ASU West campus, students are afforded every amenity and enjoy access to some of the best entertainment around. Those students who have a musical talent are offered the chance to participate in the Various ASU Athletic Bands including the Sun Devil Marching Band, the Dixie Devils and the basketball bands.

ASU Gammage is located in Tempe and is one of the best places for students and community members to go to experience great arts and entertainment. The Gammage routinely hosts Broadway productions, plays and much more. The facility, in addition to the stage, contains three lobby galleries which display visual arts. The galleries are open on weekdays; closed on weekends and evenings.
