For 20 years Lucky Ducky Derby has successfully provided non-profit organizations with effective fundraising and this year, to top it off, there is an expected 40,000 rubber ducks all racing for the cause. On May 17, 2008 the SRP canal at Scottsdale Waterfront will get this race started with first place receiving the grand prize, a 2008 Ford Focus, donated by Sanderson Ford . |

SheROX Triathlon Brings Hundreds of Women to Tempe on Saturday, May 10, 2008

The SheROX Tempe Triathlon is more than just another city triathlon-it's an all-women's event that will inspire. An inaugural race, set for three cities throughout 2008, the SheROX Tempe Triathlon, is an all women's sprint triathlon, where hundreds of female triathletes will compete in a sprint distance race of swim, bike and run around Tempe Town Lake on Saturday morning. Beginning with warm ups at 6 AM, the race will kick off at 8AM and conclude at 11 AM with an awards ceremony for all racers.

 In Time For Earth Day, Discount Cab and Tempe.com Put Prius on the Streets

Just in time for Earth Day, Discount Cab, Phoenix's largest taxi service, is adding Toyota Prius taxis to its fleet of vehicles. The first 20 of a planned 200 hybrids will hit the road on April 21, painted in the bright lime green that Discount Cab has made a staple on Valley streets. Scottsdale.com and Tempe.com, local business directories, will be the first company to have one of the new Hybrid Prius wrapped in their company's logo. Scottsdale.com and Tempe.com pride themselves in being a "green" form of advertising for local companies looking to avoid print media.
